It has been a busy month with a trip to France to celebrate my birthday and see the family one last time before the year ends. Now that I’m back, I finally have time to write an article and I’m also starting to prepare for the holiday season by browsing for gift ideas to buy. Let’s be honest, gift-giving can be difficult and take a good chuck of time depending on the personality and number of people you’re buying for. A curated gift guide makes the process much easier. Well, you’re in luck here, because I stopped by my favorite department store in Paris: Le Bon Marché, and went straight to the beauty corner to check what’s hot right now! I’m sharing my top picks in French beauty brands below, to help you find the perfect gift for the coquette person in your life. More holiday gift guides on lafrenchgirl.com. You will also find my favorite Parisian addresses here. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram for frequent insights too!
GIFT IDEAS FOR ELLE:
1. Diptyque Solid Perfume
Diptyque is famous for their sophisticated candles with exquisite scents, but they also do perfumes. I absolutely love their solid perfumes, which are perfect for traveling. You avoid bringing a perfume’s bottle with you. I literarily purchase it for this reason and I’ve been buying the number 34 in solid for ages. I absolutely love the woody scent of this perfume, which is perfect for winter. This is the best gift you can get for a perfume lover, who travels a lot.
2. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder
This is another legendary French brand and the Terracotta Bronzing Powder is THE most famous bronzing powder in France. I’ve been surrounded by the chic iconic brown case of this powder my entire life. All the women in my family have been using it since I’ve started paying attention to makeup as a child. This is hands down the best bronzing powder in my opinion.
3. La Bouche Rouge Lipstick Nude Brown Satin
It’s not easy to find the perfect nude color lipstick made with clean ingredients and this one delivers on that. They have plenty of lipstick colors to choose from. I also love the Rouge Anja and Pink Paradise Satin.
4. Violette_FR Liquid Eyeshadow + Liner Café Serré
This is a more recent brand founded in 2021 by the French makeup artist Violette Serrat, who is also the makeup creative director at Guerlain. For those who know me, you know that the only parts of my face I accentuate with makeup are my eyes. My makeup signature is a purple eyeliner. So when I saw that Violette_FR had liquid eyeshadows with a liner incorporated and really fun colors to choose from I was in! The color Café Serré is my favorite color with this brand.
5. Manucurist Starter Kit
There is nothing chicer in terms of color than a red nail polish in my opinion. I do love dark and nude nail polish colors as well. When I saw that Manucurist was a non-toxic nail polish brand and that they have gift sets, I immediately wanted to buy it for myself! 🙂 They currently have a great Black Friday deal, where you can choose 5 different nail polish colors, get 4 nail treatment products, a gentle polish remover and a nice pouch for $85! I mean this is fantastic!
GIFT IDEAS FOR LUI:
1. Bon Parfumeur Fragrance
If your man loves perfume, well don’t look anywhere else! This brand offers sophisticated clean perfumes, 100% made in France and based on the ancestral know-how of French perfumers. You cannot go wrong with their perfumes. The 602 fragrance has a very nice woody and spicy scent.
2. Horace Skincare Set
This French brand offers simple, efficient and natural grooming products for men. They have great deals on face gift sets at the moment to pamper your man!
3. L’Occitane Cade Hand Cream
Men need to take care of their hands too and this hand cream gives a more sophisticated feel, which makes it a good gift. It moisturizes well and smells good.
