I have always loved Fashion and Home Interior Decor. I got it from my mom, who shared her passions for dressing up well and home decoration with me at a very young age. I was exposed to nice aesthetics and it inspired me to do the same. I also realized that even though pairing clothes, color and accessories together is very natural to me, it may not be for others. So here I am reminding you of the simple things to be aware of, to be more stylish every single day.
1.) Good quality shoes over sneakers or slip-on shoes. Shoes are a VERY important part of an outfit. Do not think that anything will do! They can elevate a casual style instantly and make your outfit even more chic. So opt for nice square toe heels that are very comfortable to walk-in or a pair of pointed toe flats. I always favor quality over quantity in terms of shoes.
2.) Dresses over skirts or pants. Dresses are usually my go to (except when it’s winter in Chicago!) as I’m all about an easy, quick elegant look. No need to think what to pair them with unlike a skirt or pant. Additionally you avoid any fashion faux-pas pairings and it boosts your femininity!
3.) Choose flattering colors that go well with your skin tone. Do not hesitate to add a pop of color to your outfit especially now that the summer is here! It will not only give you a healthier appearance but also make you shine and radiate joy!
4.) Belt belt belt! Do not forget a belt! This is THE ultimate accessory that elevates any look. I love a black leather belt on a pant or short. Anyone should have at least one leather belt in their wardrobe. This is a must-have.
I added a new black leather belt from Madewell to my wardrobe last month among other items that I consider “basics”. (See below) Some of these recent purchases are foundational pieces to create any casual chic look, which is my style of choice. It consists of having neutral colors and denims in your wardrobe. More on that subject in this article Fashion: The Basics.
The long denim skirt. This skirt is making a comeback. Nothing new really. I was wearing long denim skirts in my early 20’s! As my mother reminded me the other day: fashion always repeats itself. So true! I like the vibrant blue of this skirt. You can find more details on La French Girl.
The black and white cotton Tank Tops. I replaced my old ones that were showing signs of wear. They are a classic and so easy to wear with anything.
The long black cotton shirtdress. I love this type of dress for its versatility of wear. You can elevate the dress with a belt and heels or wear it as is with sandals to go to the beach. The perfect casual chic piece in my opinion! Don’t you agree?
What about you? What did you add to your wardrobe recently?? Please comment below, I’d love to get your thoughts and feedback!
